The Steyr Scout RFR, also known as the Scout Survival, is the rimfire version of the Steyr Scout rifle, available in three caliber choices: .17 HMR, .22 LR, and .22 WMR. It is a lightweight rifle with features such as: Removable box magazines with a magazine cut-off, allowing for individual rounds to be manually loaded through the ejection port. Second spare magazine stored in the butt of the rifle. Aluminum receiver housing, hammer-forged fluted barrel, and extensive use of polymers for light weight. Top integral Weaver rail and bottom UIT rail at the forend. Roller tang safety with "Locked Safe," "Loading," and "Fire" positions. The Steyr Scout RFR is based on the design of the ISSC SPA biathlon rifle and features a straight-pull toggle lock action. It is available in two calibers, 5.56 NATO and 7.62 NATO, but can be specially ordered in 7 mm-08 Remington upon request. The rifle comes with a threaded 20" heavy barrel and a 10-round metal clip.
